SEO experts SEO CoPilot visit Digital Technologies students
Local SEO experts SEO CoPilot popped in to college recently to deliver a fantastic seminar on the latest SEO trends and techniques in the industry. Former students Jake Swift, Callum Fanshawe and James Heinzman at SEO CoPilot led the seminar and gave advice on getting into the industry; with input from owner Guy Tomlinson.
Entitled 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of SEO and Web Design', the seminar covered:
- • An explanation of Web Design and SEO
- • Examples of Bad Web Design; Duplicate content, Indexed pages, Slow website speed, Mobile friendliness
- • Examples of Good Web Design; Attractive designs, Secure web platforms
- • Things to consider when building a website
With a wealth of experience in SEO and marketing, SEO CoPilot have helped countless clients in achieving better results by improving their online presence. The company has visited our Digital Technologies students for the past few years to update them on major industry news and trends to help prepare them for when they come to graduate their studies with us and enter the world of work. A perfect example of this being SEO CoPilot's up and coming SEO Consultant, Jake Swift who, having received the seminar a year ago and working part-time at SEO CoPilot during his studies, is now helping lead the seminar as a full time member of staff at the company. Students, Callum and James, currently working part-time at SEO CoPilot also assisted in the delivery of the seminar in specific topics relating to Web Design and Local SEO techniques.
Jake explains, "It's a great company to work for. No day is the same, it's varied between creating websites, social media marketing, SEO optimisation, working on back-end systems, the list goes on really. In terms of my career so far, my school recommended the IT/Digital Technologies department at Chesterfield College as I wanted to focus on that industry and I'm so glad I took the decision to study web design here. My tutor put me in touch with SEO CoPilot who took me on part-time during my studies which provided great experience. I finished my course with distinctions and I now work full-time at the company. I'm really enjoying it and my confidence in talking to clients has improved immensely, something that only comes with that invaluable experience in the workplace."
Company owner Guy explains, “It’s always a pleasure to visit Chesterfield College and help the students with their learning, I have a lot of time for Jake, Callum and James. I think they did an excellent job and I am proud of their progress, they are hardworking and great team players”.
On behalf of all of our Digital Technologies students we'd like to thank SEO CoPilot for their continued partnership with the college and assisting students in preparing for work out in industry.
