Coming back to college is helping Rachel get the career of her dreams

New Year campaign - Rachel Czipak

Rachel Czipak, age 30 from Chesterfield, came back to college 2 years ago because she was determined to get the career she had always dreamed of.

Rachel says she wasn’t interested in school and was easily distracted so when she left at 16 she didn’t have a clear plan of what was next for her. Eventually she became interested in a nursing career but was discouraged from taking that route by her mum who thought business studies would give her a brighter future. After trying a business studies course she knew that her heart wasn’t in it. With her sights set on a nursing career she looked at different options but knew she needed to get her maths and English qualifications before she could move on to a nursing degree, which is when she came to Chesterfield College.

With her English and Maths exams in the bag, Rachel is now studying for a Diploma in Health Studies at our University Centre before she moves on to do a full degree next year.
