Hard work pays off for first class IT graduate
Joseph Oyedpo is celebrating after graduating with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Information Technology.
Joseph started studying for a foundation degree at Chesterfield College after he moved to the area and was looking for a course that would give him the qualifications he needed to progress his career at the same time as working full time and juggling the needs of looking after a two year old child.
Most would find studying for a degree difficult enough without the added pressures of work and family but Joseph rose to the challenge and worked tirelessly to get amazing grades.
He told us: “It feels amazing to be graduating today. I was determined to get my degree and thanks to the support of my family, the tutors at college and my boss at work, the hard work has paid off.”
“It was absolutely the right choice to study for my degree at Chesterfield College. I was familiar with the environment and the lecturers because I had done a foundation degree there previously. I liked what was on the syllabus and knew where to go if I needed help. Even the staff in the library would go out of their way to help find the research materials I needed. That might sound like a little thing but it makes a big difference when you are trying to fit so much into your life.”
