Dion and Josh box clever for charity

Students Dion and Josh boxing for charity

Dion Cowen (Sports Coaching) and Josh Brown (Football Coaching) are taking part in a white collar boxing match this coming Sunday as they raise funds for Help for Heroes.

"It's a great charity that we wanted to support", explains Josh, "we've already raised nearly £300 but we need all of the support we can".

Dion explains, "Training has been gruelling over the past 8 weeks but it's been great that Josh has done this with me as we've spurred each other on when we've felt like giving up."

Dion feels that sport in general has given her a new lease of life. She explains, "When I started at College I was quite a bit overweight but I've really got into my fitness during my studies and noticing my weight loss Neil Cluxton (tutor) asked me if this charity boxing match would interest me, I'm really nervous but I've enjoyed the whole journey so much, my improvement in fitness has given me so much more confidence."

Josh adds, "I had an operation on my shoulder earlier in the year so this training along with other competitive sports at College has helped my rehab no end, I feel really fit now."
