A taste of Oxbridge life for college students

A Level students try out Oxford life

Seven gifted and talented A-Level students from Chesterfield College have just returned from an exciting two day event at Oxford University designed to give the brightest and best students in the country a chance to experience life a one of the world’s most prestigious universities.

The students stayed overnight in the University before attending a full day of activities and seminars on their chosen subjects and on the application and interview process.

Since her return Casey Fawcett, has already started to practice for the entrance exams in maths. She told us: “The trip was a fantastic opportunity to see what studying at Oxford might be like. It gave me a real insight into the application process which will definitely help me.”

Abby Booker, an Architecture student said: “This is the best trip I have been on, the chance to immerse yourself in the architecture and feeling of Oxford is very inspiring”

David Smith, Curriculum Manager commented “ The Chesterfield College 6th form really does try to stretch and challenge all our students, but these seven just needed to be convinced that to be accepted at Oxbridge is achievable. I wish them all the best of luck”
