From offering a free healthy breakfast to providing our students with discounted gym membership, we are passionate about healthy living and encourage all of our students to lead a healthy lifestyle.

To help you improve your physical and mental wellbeing, our Xtra team organise a range of activities throughout the year designed to appeal to those who do less than 30 minutes of exercise a week.

Phyisical health

If you would like to get involved with the Healthy Lifestyle Project we can arrange exercise to music classes if you want to improve your fitness, rock climbing and canoeing for groups that want to develop their teamwork, and kickboxing if you want to build confidence and relieve stress.

Mental health

Leading a healthy lifestyle isn’t just about your physical health, but also includes your mental wellbeing. Therefore we have a college counsellor based on site and our progress coaches who can offer help and advice on a number of topics.

Award winning

We were recently announced as proud winners of Active Derbyshire’s Innovation of the Year award for our Healthy Lifestyle Project. The work we have done to help transform the health and wellbeing of students impressed the judges. We have helped more than 700 students to find a variety of ways to get active since the project started in 2017. Read more about the award win here.
