Course overview

Access courses are designed to enable mature learners (19+) who have been out of education to gain the qualifications, academic skills and knowledge necessary to progress on to university-level study. During the course you will learn the fundamental factors of maths, English, biology, sociology and psychology, to enable you to go on to study nursing, midwifery and occupational therapy. Modules include:

  • Sociology
  • Psychology
  • Biology
  • English
  • Study Skills

Who is this course for?

This course is studied full-time over one year. You will be required to attend college lectures and seminars for a minimum of two and a half days a week. Entry qualifications

  • Grade C/4 GCSE English and minimum Grade D/3* GCSE Maths. *If applicants have Grade D/3 you will be required to sit GCSE Maths alongside your studies.
  • Interview and Maths and English test
  • Relevant work experience (or willingness to take alongside)
