Who is this course for?
Running 9am-4.45pm on a Thursday, this course is is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a reflexologist. This qualification will support you to gain employment as a reflexologist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role.
The Holistic industry is a very exciting and dynamic sector of employment and offers a variety of career options. This is a practical course and you will receive ongoing assessment on your practical skills and will be working on case studies. There will be theory which underpins the practical knowledge. In addition to your study programme, we can provide you with work experience within our commercial salon. Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) is a specialist awarding organisation (AO). Launched in 1962, it offers vocational and technical qualifications, including apprenticeships, in a range of service sectors. It is currently the market leading AO for the Hair and Beauty sectors.
Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in complementary therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview.
What other experience will I gain?
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and client care. You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to use reflexology techniques for relaxation and to promote self-healing for your clients. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
Where will this lead?
This qualification will confirm your competence for employment as a reflexologist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a reflexologist. Career opportunities as a reflexologist exist in a variety of contexts, including working in: commercial complementary therapy clinics, commercial spa or salons, NHS in hospitals and care homes or independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings.What are my career options?
