Course overview

During this course you will study aspects of computing that have a practical impact of business and everyday life. You’ll focus on the practical hands on side of computing learning the skills and knowledge required to gain professional employment.

You will study a wide range of units including:

  • Software design and modelling
  • Web applications
  • Dynamic websites
  • Programming and testing
  • Programming and systems

Entry requirements:

Two A Levels or a relevant BTEC diploma
  • GCSE English and maths at grade C or above (or Level 2 equivalent)
  • Mature students with relevant experience will also be considered
  • Methods of assessment

    Methods of assessment include:

    • Coursework
    • Exams
    • Practical projects
    • Structured walkthroughs
    • Phase tests
    • Reports/presentations
    • Online assessment

    Who is this course for?

    This is course can be studied full-time over two years (12 hours per week) or three years part-time (four hours per week). You will also need to dedicate some time to self-study and research.
