Funding information: Free for Eligible 16-18 year olds. Adult funding available dependant on learner circumstances otherwise course costs apply.

Course Overview

This programme develops the skills needed to interact and communicate with others and the environment. We plan individual learning in order to make progress towards future goals.

Students will also engage in a range of different activities to build a broad range of skills and will have the option to participate in various enrichment activities such as arts and craft, cooking and gardening and recycling.

Course Content

Students will work towards individualised targets to support their personal and social development. These will be embedded across the programme so that students work towards unit criteria in a way that is most relevent to the personal skills that they need to improve.

The units within the qualification are focused around:

  • Staying safe online
  • ICT for independence
  • Working as a group
  • Preparing for a job
  • Using leisure time
  • Improving your mental health

There are no formal entry requirements on foundation learning courses.
