Course OverviewThis course aims to develop you as a confident, knowledgeable and effective practitioner to work with children, young people and their families in the children’s and young people’s service sector. Depending on your career aims, you can choose to specialise in early years or teaching assistant. You will be encouraged to reflect on your practice and enhance your knowledge through the theory covered on the course. Your work setting is used for work-based projects, activities and research so everything you study will be relevant to your everyday work.
Course ContentDepending on which pathway you choose, you’ll study some of the following modules: Children and Young People Communicating, Research Methods and Practice, Understanding Behaviour, Children’s, Young People’s and Family Rights, Work-Based Reflective Practice, Early Years Provision and Practice, Secondary Research, Working with Parents and Carers.
Entry RequirementsA relevant Level 3 qualification, English and maths (grade C/4 or above at GCSE or Level 2 equivalent). Mature students with relevant experience will also be considered.
