Course Overview

This is a short, introductory one-week intensive course covering teaching and assessment, and is aimed at those who would like to progress into teaching or training as a career.

You will develop the skills you need to begin a successful career in the sector, and will also be given an insight into the different roles, responsibilities and practicalities of work within education. You can expect to build on your current skills and open up a wider range of long term career options.

You will need to dedicate some time to self-study and research at home and the submission of assessments by set deadlines is vital to the completion of the course.

Course Content

Modules on this course include:

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
  • Understanding assessment in education and training

Entry Requirements

GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above (or Level 2 equivalent) and basic IT skills.

Successful completion of this Level 3 award will provide an opportunity for you to progress into employment as a teacher or trainer. You could also continue to study the full Certificate in Education and Training or PGCE course at Chesterfield College.
