Course Overview

Hospitality services covers all aspects of the hospitality industry, from food and drink service and preparation to reception and customer service. You can expect to develp a range of useful skills and knowledge during your time on this course, all of which are highly valued by employers in the industry.

The college has its own restaurant, Taste, where you will have the opportunity to put your skills into practice, along with other eateries including The Lilypad Cafe. The college also hosts prestigious events such as the Chesterfield Food and Drink Awards and The Derbyshire Times Business Awards, where staff and students from the college serve high quality food for 250 guests. There are many other opportunities for students to hone their skills throughout the year through work experience placements and external events, which will prepare you for life in the hospitality industry.

Course Content

Modules on this course include: Reception and Customer Service Skills, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service, Food Preparation and Cooking

Entry Requirements

Three GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language or Maths, or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

Following successful completion of this course, you can choose to progress to related Level 3 courses or apprenticeships. Alternatively, you can opt to go into employment in the catering and hospitality industry, utilising the skills and knowledge you have.
