Course Overview

We offer two pathway options for this Qualification: MEDIA PRODUCTION or GAMES DESIGN. This MEDIA PRODUCTION PATHWAY is designed to enable you to develop broad experience and an understanding of the media production, preparing you for the reality of the media industry with units which focus on filmmaking, photography, graphics, animation and interactive media. This course will allow you to choose a progressive path and showcases the careers available to you. You will have an introduction to both the creative and technical aspects of media production and focus on your own personal development to find an area of media that you enjoy and that suits your skillset. You will gain transferable skills, including collaboration, dependability, resilience, imagination and creativity.

You will be asked to carry out work experience that is relevant to the subject you are studying. This is with an external company and allows you to put what you will learn in the classroom into practice. It will also help you to develop a variety of different skills. Upon completion of the course and placement, it can also help you to secure an apprenticeship, employment or assist you with your application for university. We recommend that you start thinking about your placement as soon possible and consider potential employers you may want to work with.
