Course Overview

If you are looking to get started in music technology, performance and production this is the ideal course for you. Pioneered in 2020, our courses are at the cutting edge of the demands of the industry. Changing and adapting to new challenges and opportunities arising from changes in global networks. The Level 1 UAL award and diploma in Music and Production Arts, is designed to explore techniques, methods and processes that create a professional foundation to approach and progress your skills and interest in music. It is our intent that this initial experience of music performance and production arts activities will provide you with a test of your commitment and interest to the subject and industry. The course will provide you with excellent teaching and learning from professionals with backgrounds in music industry, specialising in music performance, mixing and mastering, recording and engineering.

Course Content

Composing and producing music

  • We look at the skills needed to write your own music, as well as recording it into DAW (Logic Pro) and releasing it to a public forum.

 

Instrumental skills development

  • To develop on the course we will guide you through effective practice routines and enable you to improve your instrumental abilities.

 

Learning to use the recording studio

  • Our brand new recording studio will provide a great backdrop for you to learn how to engineer a recording session – leading to a fully recorded song (or songs) to a professional standard.

 

Major final project

  • This is your project to hone the skills learned on previous units to lead to a final major project of your choosing.

Entry Requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs, a strong passion and interest in music and a commitment to industry placements. If you have not achieved a grade 4 at GCSE English and Maths you will study these as part of your programme.

Progression

We offer a natural progression to Level 2 Music Performance and Music Production and also offer a Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance and Production.
