This course provides an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills to prepare you for working in the hairdressing / beauty industry and enable you to achieve an industry recognised qualification. The course will provide learners with a good understanding of a range of hairdressing treatments and will enable the development of a range of skills which will prepare you for progression onto further study in this area or into employment.
Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) is a specialist awarding organisation (AO). Launched in 1962, it offers vocational and technical qualifications, including apprenticeships, in a range of service sectors. It is currently the market leading AO for the Hair and Beauty sectors.
Key modules on this course include: Shampooing and treatment of hair to deal with a range of conditions, Blow-drying, Styling hair using plaiting techniques, Skin care for clients, Hand care for hairdressing professionals.
Three GCSEs at grade F/1 or above.
Progression may be to a Level 1 Hairdressing or Beauty programme, a Level 2 Apprenticeship and / employment within the hairdressing industry.
