Cupping – Myofascial Decompression Course

Myofascial Decompression (MFD), also known as cupping, is a form of soft tissue treatment using both a pneumatic pump along with plastic vacuum cups placed on the skin to release the fascia and muscle tissue underneath.
The therapy helps to treat musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, improving tissue health and increasing mobility. The cost includes professional cupping therapy equipment set with pumping handle and 17 cups. The course runs 9.30am-4.30pm.
The course covers the following topics:
- How to select and use the correct equipment
- Application of myofascial decompression, including active & passive techniques
- The place of MFD in a treatment plan and the rehabilitation process
Candidates are required to hold a minimum of an accredited Level 3 diploma in sports massage or equivalent. This course is open to students and graduates of BSc/MSc programmes such as Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, Osteopathy etc.
The course is insurable by Balens in combination with a fully accredited massage qualification or equivalent. If you want to add it onto an existing policy with another provider we recommend you talk to them first to ensure you will be insured.
