Course OverviewA Level English Literature aims to build on the knowledge and skills you gained at GCSE. During this course you'll learn how to critically analyse texts using historical and cultural context, as well as developing and understanding of the different genres and how authros choose to tell their stories using characterisation, settings, view points and narrative. You will apply literature terminology such as imagery, metaphors and personification to a range of texts and participate in class discussions to share your interpretations of texts.
As part of your course you'll study texts such as: Othello, Death of a Salesman, The Great Gatsby, A selction of poetry
Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (including English and maths).
Upon successful completion of this course, you can choose to progress on to further study at university or enter employment.
