Kitchen Assistant – Pinelodge Holidays

Pinelodge Holidays is a family-owned business which operates two 5-star award winning lodge holiday parks in Derbyshire; Landal Darwin Forest near Matlock and Landal Sandybrook at Ashbourne.

We are recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Little Monkeys, the best indoor play centre in Derbyshire.

You must be able to work in the evenings mid-week as well as one day at the weekend including bank holidays. Must be reliable, friendly and work well in a team. This is a part time, permanent, year-round position and some flexibility on working hours will be necessary.

The Parks operate all year round and at Pinelodge Holidays we try to “Delight every Guest so they Wish to Return”. As a member of the Little Monkeys team, you will be in contact with our guests on a daily basis and must demonstrate a friendly and professional image at all times. A uniform will be provided.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be part of a busy modern commercial kitchen that holds a 5-star food hygiene rating. Reporting to the Kitchen Supervisor, your general kitchen duties will include:

  • Assist in preparing a consistently high standard of food
  • Duties will include the preparation of salads and sandwiches, preparation and cooking of vegetables, pasta, as well as cooking children’s vegetarian, meat and fish dishes.
  • Prepare and present, to order, dishes for service.
  • Assist with the ordering of ingredients as directed.
  • Assist with processing supplier deliveries, including temperature checks on goods as appropriate.
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed regarding checking and recording of food temperatures.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene are achieved in the kitchen and maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that the kitchen and equipment is left clean and tidy at the end of each working day and that this is duly recorded.
  • Adhere to the Catering Health and Safety guidelines and wear the appropriate safety protection clothing provided, as required, at all times.
  • Any other duties required by the needs of the business and the professional fulfilment of the role.

In addition, you will also assist with Team Player / Party Host duties including welcoming children and their parents into the centre and processing payments, serving food and drinks from the café, coordinating birthday parties and general cleaning duties.

We would like to hear from you if you have previous experience in a similar role, flexible on days worked and hold an NVQ Level 2/3 in food hygiene.
