National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)
Print this pageNVQs are work related, competence-based qualifications. We offer a range of NVQs which are an easy way to get formal recognition for the work-related skills you have built up during your lifetime and use every day. For most of our work-based training, assessment is carried out in your workplace - so you don’t need to come into college or take exams. Instead, an Assessor visits you at work and identifies the tasks you do in your everyday job that meet the requirements of the NVQ qualification. They then help you to identify any new skills you need to develop and work with your employer to find work scenarios to test them.

Today we encourage people to look at supplementing their NVQs with additional skills based qualifications and literacy and numeracy.
