Foundation Degree
Foundation Degrees are universityvalidated qualifications at Levels 4 and 5. The courses offered by the College are either arts based (FdA) or science based (FdSc), and have been designed in partnership with employers and the relevant Sector Skills Council to deliver the skills and knowledge demanded by industry. The courses include work-based projects, placements, blocks of learning in college, online modules and personal development. Students studying for a Foundation Degree can apply to study for an Honours Degree. Those who successfully complete a Foundation
Degree may apply to undertake a ‘top-up’ BA or BSc (Hons) degree course. Please note that entry criteria may apply; for example admissions tutors may require an average grade profile above 60%.

A foundation degree is a degree level qualification which combines academic study with work place learning. Designed in association with employers, they are qualifications to equip you with the relevant skills, knowledge and understanding you need to achieve academic results as well as improve performance and productivity in the work place.

If you are already in the profession or thinking about it, they are intended to increase your professional and technical skills needed within it. A foundation degree is the equivalent of two thirds of a full honours degree and is a fully flexible qualification allowing you to study part-time or full-time to fit around your lifestyle. |
