You are invited to Child Care and Education Display week

Place: Chesterfield College, South Block, 5th Floor

 

On:

• Tuesday 21st February 12-5pm

• Wednesday 22nd February 9-5pm

• Thursday 23rd February 9-7pm

Our aim is to ensure that young people are provided with first class information about the education, training and development opportunities available at Chesterfield College. We also are committed to supporting students to overcome their barriers in regards to College.

Taster Days
This is an opportunity to spend half a day or a day experiencing a College course. The tasters are excellent for providing an insight into College life across a range of subjects and take place during February half-term.  In addition we can arrange Group Tasters which are designed to meet your specific needs.

 

Tours
You can arrange a visit to the College either as a group or individually and be given a tour of our extensive facilities with a particular focus on the course you are interested in.  You will have the opportunity to meet staff and students of the College.

 

Parents’ Evenings
If your school is hosting a parents’ evening we would come along and provide impartial advice to students and their parents about education and training opportunities.

 

Customer Engagement  

Careers Events/Conventions/Industry Days
We work with a range of schools as part of their careers programmes. If your organisation is hosting a careers event or convention we would be happy to attend and provide students with advice relating to post-16 and Higher Education opportunities.

Mock Interviews
If you are holding mock interviews for Year 10 or Year 11 students we can provide a staff member to act as an interviewer or be part of an interview panel.

 

Year 9 Options
We recognise that choosing the right options can be quite daunting for students and parents.  We will visit your school and support your Year 9 option events and talks.

 

Work Experience
We welcome applications from students wishing to undertake work experience at Chesterfield College – however please note that places are limited and you are encouraged to contact the College as soon as possible.

 

Drop-in Sessions
We make regular visits to schools to meet with teachers, parents and pupils to provide information and advice about opportunities at the College.

 

Open-House Talks
If your organisation would like us to deliver a talk or presentation on any aspect of life at Chesterfield College then please contact us to discuss how we can help.

Education Exhibitions and Community Events
We attend a wide range of education exhibitions and community events in order to promote the College and meet with new partners.  If you are organising an event and you think the College should come along then please contact us.

Chesterfield College Open Days
You (and your school) can come along to our Open Days to view our facilities, meet our tutors and find out about College courses.  Open Days are held during the autumn and spring term.  We also run Directorate Information Evenings which are targeted at careers advisors, Connexions staff and teachers – where you will be able to receive in-depth information about specific programme areas at the College.

 

Promotional Material
If you require promotional material e.g. brochures or application forms etc, then please contact the team and we will despatch material to your organisation.

Schools Challenges
Every year Chesterfield College hosts and organises a number of Schools Challenge days.  Teams from local schools compete in a series of workshops, from Hair and Beauty, Textiles and Media, to Construction, Sport, Catering and Childcare, with prizes awarded to the winning teams in each area.
