Chesterfield College has rewarded the achievements of students participating in a wide variety of sports at its annual awards ceremony, this year taking place at Chesterfield’s Brampton Manor.

A huge turn out of young sportsmen and women attended the event to cheer on their teammates as they stepped up to receive their awards. Football was well represented, as was Rugby and Basketball. Even the College’s golf team were present to pick up an award each for their spectacular winning performance earlier in the year against over 20 other East Midlands College teams in the BCS tournament at Derby’s Morley Hayes course. Brian Carroll, Chesterfield College’s Head of Learning presented each winner with their trophy.
Mark Jones, Chesterfield College Further Education Sports Coordinator, explains, “It’s important that we recognise just how hard each one of our players works when representing the College. Each team member trains with real commitment and gives 100 per cent during games. It’s fantastic to see the amount of support that the students give to their team mates.”
A special Outstanding Leadership Award was presented to Martin Dewberry for his amazing 200+ hours of community based volunteering for the Youth Sport Trust over the past year.
