Chesterfield College hospitality and catering staff have visited the Alexandre Dumas catering academy in Strasbourg, France, to forge links for a student exchange programme beginning next year.

Chesterfield College hospitality and catering lecturer, Paul Maude, visited the impressive catering academy along with 11 other East Midlands Further Education representatives. Founded in 1927, Alexandre Dumas is now considered to be one of the best catering and hospitality academies in France.

The aim of the link is to exchange hospitality and catering students from Chesterfield College with those of Alexandre Dumas, with both sets of students being found work placement opportunities in the surrounding area as well. The project is in collaboration with EMFEC (East Midlands Further Education Council), and the Lifelong Learning Programme. Its aim is to encourage ideas, practices, skills and people to move across Europe.
