Chesterfield College is leading the way in an innovative new
carbon-testing event as part of a national CO2 emissions awareness
campaign.
ASNU, an organisation that campaigns for the compulsory maintenance
and cleaning of car injectors in the war against CO2 emissions,
worked with the College’s automotive students to measure the before
and after effects of injector maintenance using an innovative new
diagnostic device.

Cleaning injectors is not a current requirement of car maintenance,
but the results of these tests, which will be included in the
government’s CO2 statistics, will reinforce the need for routine
injector maintenance.
Roger Friend, Technical Sales Director of ASNU said, “The students
are really engaged in this and it’s great to see them so
enthusiastic about reducing the emissions in the environment. Its
great that we can include the students in this data recording that
we are putting together for the government.”
Automotive diagnostic equipment specialists, Hickleys, supplied the
CO2 diagnostic equipment used in the tests, and they regularly
supply the College with state-of-the-art machinery to enable
students to learn using industry standard equipment.
Peter Durkin, Technical Sales and Support Manager for Hickleys,
added,
“Having worked with the college for many years, I was happy to come
back to help the students and get involved in this event.” |
