Following the highly successful Apple training workshops hosted by
the College for students and employers last year, the College’s
Directorate of Art and Design has been awarded Apple Authorised
Training Centre for Education (AATCe) status.
The new accreditation means that the College is authorised by
software manufacturer Apple to offer training in a wide range of
creative software which can be utilised in a variety of settings
from schools and colleges, through to professional applications for
use in the workplace.
The accreditation was awarded following a visit from Apple
Consultant Luke Fielding, who assessed the College’s training
facilities, and existing course provision, and learnt more about the
extensive quality systems that are in place in the Directorate of
Art and Design.
The AATCe status further reinforces the College’s excellent
reputation in the field of Creative Media, building on its previous
success in gaining Centre of Vocational Excellence status.
Apple training is planned to commence in September 2009, and will
initially be incorporated into the full-time and part-time creative
media programmes offered at College, before being offered to local
schools and businesses.
Operational Manager for Art and Design, Jeremy Asquith said,
“Apple accreditation represents the next phase in our continued
commitment to providing excellence in training for students and
employers. It is also the first step towards becoming a full Apple
Authorised Training Centre, offering a broader range of training in
commercial settings.” |
