A performing arts
production written and performed by learners from the Foundation
Studies Department at Chesterfield College.

Chesterfield’s new Mayor and Mayoress Fred Quayle and Shirley
Boulton had front row seats to a stunning performance by students
with disabilities and learning difficulties from Chesterfield
College.
The annual showcase, which this year led the audience on a journey
through ancient cultures of the world, followed months of
preparation by students, who made all the props and costumes for the
production.
The performance represents a personal achievement for all who took
part in front of a packed house at the Winding Wheel Theatre on
Wednesday evening.
Helen Evans, a lecturer on the Foundation Studies Programme who has
worked alongside the students writing scripts and choreographing
dances, said: “It’s great to see the students achieving and learning
to their full potential. The show is always an occasion for the
students, staff, parents and carers to be proud.
Helen added “Every detail of the production, from the sets, props,
costumes and the art exhibition through to the dances and scripts,
is the result of their creative ideas and efforts, and we were
delighted to welcome the new Mayor and Mayoress to see the finished
product.”
