Prestigious Placement for College Caterers
Date: 10th April 2008

Catering students from Chesterfield College have proven to be the cream of the crop after landing a prestigious work placement with catering company Delaware North Companies.

The group of eighteen students were taken on after successfully completing interviews with Paul Burridge, Delaware North’s Hospitality and Catering Manager, when he visited the College in January. Paul said, “Its great to see so many enthusiastic students at the College. I was very impressed with their skills and knowledge, which the tutors are justly proud of.” Lecturer Paul Maude said, “The students will each be allocated a private box at one of Delaware North’s flagship sites in London looking after the VIP’s and corporate guests.”

“This work placement will pave the way for many future opportunities for catering students as well as for students from other areas of the College. The students won places alongside trainee caterers from some of the country’s major catering colleges so we are extremely proud of their achievements.” “It’s great that the College has established this link with Delaware North Companies, and it just goes to show the calibre of the students we train here at Chesterfield College.” Delaware North Companies plan to maintain links with the College, with students attending further events in the future.
