What support is available?

 Study and Personal Support:



Pastoral Tutorials
All full-time students have timetabled tutorials with a designated tutor who supports them through their course, and can help with a range of issues including:
• Higher/Further education advice and application
• Monitoring and reporting progress to students and parents/guardians
• Financial advice
• Welfare rights
• Part-time and full-time work opportunities
• Help with study difficulties



Every student also has access to the College’s Learner Services team who offer a wide range of support including:
• Careers Advice
• Connexions Personal Advisors
• Confidential Counselling with a trained counsellor
• Support for students with disabilities/learning difficulties
• Financial help and advice
• Education Maintenance Allowance

Additional Learning Support:

Students with specialist needs have access to a wide range of additional support including:
• Learning Support Officers and Care Officers
• Specialist tutors and support staff
• Notetakers
• Sign Language communicators
• Brailled literature
• Enlarged print
• Audio tapes
• Assistance with Personal Care
• Extra help with maths and/or English
• Exam concessions*
