Courses: Higher Education...

What is a Foundation degree?

It is a higher level course where you would normally be required to study for 2 years. A part-time /flexible Foundation Degree is designed for students who are in relevant employment and capable of studying a higher level. The course will focus on learning in the workplace as well as at College, so you will need to be employed in a role that will enable you to undertake assignments and projects based on your place of employment and your job role as well as to attend College as required.

You can also study for some Foundation Degree courses on a full-time basis and as part of the course you will be required to complete a number of work experience placements and work based projects.

Attendance requirements on a Higher Education course will vary from course to course. Full-time usually means 2 days per week, whilst for part-time/flexible attendance for one day or an afternoon and evening, whilst others are evening only or delivered in blocks of learning supplemented by work based projects and professional development activities. Many courses include on-line modules and tutors will provide support by email in addition to tutorials.

The College also offers a range of professional courses in Management, Accounting, Marketing and Personnel with progression routes to higher levels.
